I had a chat with my daughter last week, nothing new there, thankfully we talk a lot. But we were talking about what we were doing and I couldn’t believe what time it was. My thoughts of time had disappeared into the mists , as they usually do. She said, ‘ you really have no concept of time do you mum ?’ She is right. I never have. I still have nightmares about being in school learning how to tell the time. It just didn’t work for me, all those numbers in a circle, counting in minutes and making quarter hours , that made half hours … And it still doesn’t, you will know this of course if you have ever made a time to meet me!
Well here we are enough of this chatter, images. See what I have been up to . Oh and sorry , not sorry, another reminder about my new epic project.
It is true, I haven’t even got dressed yet ! But I have been busy emailing and posting my fantastic news !
I have secured a residency in Penryn , Cornwall and I can’t wait! But, there is often a but, I need to raise some money so I can work with as much effort as possible and eat ! Its also a long way from home, any further and I would be in France ! So to help me afford to do it I have set up a Crowdfunder , with some exclusive rewards for those who are able to help. So please watch my little video and share the info far and wide, I hope I can make it there and back . Just click on the link below .
I have big news to tell you …. but not today ! you will have to wait until tomorrow , things are not 100% ready to reveal yet.
So here are the images to catch up until I can share my fantastic news !
Lots of different pages this week , painting even ! Yesterday and today I have used the same flower to draw and add colour with water colour paints. Not sure which one I like the most, I enjoy continuous line drawings , however I haven’t done much drawing lately so it has been nice trying out my rusty skills.
I am so happy to say I am to do a residency at The Fish Factory in Penryn , Cornwall! Couldn’t get much further away from home or I would be in France ! Very excited , but I must keep focused I have a lot to do before I go . Part of the preparation needs to be me being better at posting my pages! But here is a catch up of the last few days, a very mixed bag. I have enjoyed the sequence that has developed over this weekend. I don’t always run a theme more than one day but I rummaged through an old tin of sewing materials and just felt I had to use them.
I am so tired. I am tired in and out. I long for summer days, with lots of sunshine and fresh air.
With a devastating fire at The Bureau Center for the Arts in Blackburn last week it has been a whirlwind time of crying, hugging, making new friends, washing smoked soaked rescued costumes and trying to drum up votes for funding via The Peoples Lottery. follow this link to find out more https://thepeoplesproject.org.uk
They also have a fundraising page , please help if you are able, every penny will help to make sure the work they do in the Community continues. https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfund
Oh my March has been a busy month. Not had a lot of paid work, but I have been busy everyday. All kinds of things going on including some supertastic workshops at Handmade Parade at Hebden Bridge. Lots of new interesting old books this month too, I do like the paper you get in old books, soft and textured, and great line drawn illustrations.
